As long as your act does not infringe on anyone elses rights.......
The problem is that most persons morality on this planet, this country included, is NOT based on a rational philosophy, it is based on some sort of supernatural belief or some varaition on the theme.Originally posted by Jerky

If we all draw a line in the sand at different places, is there nothing that we can agree upon? If I say rape is bad and someone says that it is okay, how can "my" morality be right and theirs be wrong? With this example, there are NO boundaries. A reaccuring theme here is that it would be wrong for "my" morality to overshadow "your" morality. No one seems to recognize that that is in itself a moral stance.
Is there a baseline belief that everone holds . . . Yes. No one wants THEIR stuff stolen, or THEIR body hurt, or THEIR children taken advantage of. It is in the application of this "law" that gets people in trouble.
Drugs . . . Do they hurt people . . . Yes. Should they be legal?
Cars . . . Do people die in cars? . . . Yes. Should they be legal?
Prostitution, Porn, Gambling, Abortion . . . . if the line is located at so many different places, what do we do.
