Pan's Labyrinth is also very good. Some people are turned off by subtitles but if you have sufficient brain cells you won't even notice them 5 minutes into the film.

lol that was such a weird movie. They basically marketed that movie as a children's movie, and it has one of the most gruesome scenes I have ever seen in a movie.

Pineapple Express and Step Brothers were easily the two funniest movies I saw last year.

Illusionist is amazing
Prestige is decent
Shawshank Redemption is in the top 5 best movies ever
Green Mile- see above
American History X- also an amazing movie
The Dark Knight- Only good if you've see BB

These are the most memorable in my opinion, but I saw quite a few good ones in the last year.

Its not that new, but it is just out on DVD rent or buy 'My Best Friends Girl' if you want to laugh till you cry.

i liked appaloosa.

I really wanted to enjoy it, but not enough guns, and his girlfriend ruined the movie. No one can make a western like Sergio Leone could. Ed harris blows at what he does. his partner on the other hand played a great part.
