I'm thinking about trading in the L for a new 2011 f150. This Lightning is actually the longest I've ever stuck to one vehicle which shows how much I liked the Lightnings but on the other hand I'm really getting burned out on driving and looking at the same vehicle for the last five years. So I was wondering how the 2011 f150's are from the perspective of other Lightning owners. Am I going to be really disappointed in the power, handling, looks/style, losing the exclusivity of owning a SVT vehicle (everybody and their brother has a standard f150, but you don't see too many Lightnings driving around). What will I like/dislike about it etc...

Here's about what I'm looking into getting.... A standard cab STX 4x4....

What about the Raptor? How does that compare? I think for me it would be a waste since I don't care about off-roading. Wish they would make a new Lightning.

I have a 2011, but am curious why you want an STX?
My CC Ecoboost runs mid 14's, so you'll be disappointed with the power. The ride is good, the interior is good, the truck is solid, but its not my lightning. I'd get rid of my L for my FX4 if it was my only truck, but no way i'd replace it for any other reason.

There is no way I would trade the "L" for any other truck. Not to sound rude, but other F150's are a dime a dozen, the Lightning is special. My truck is almost 9 years old now and it still turns heads and gets compliments. You have a special truck and it wouldn't make sense to me to trade it for a regular F-150. Also, how can you get tired of looking at perfection?:-D

Fair point but doesn't FoMoCo sell something like 104 F150's an hour worldwide?

that doesn't matter ... when you have 1 out of 250 like I do, it doesn't matter how many they make there is no denying the epic rarityness that is what I have.

Drove my cousins brand new F150 Limited today with a 5.0. It's nice and fully loaded to the max, but I didn't like driving as much as the Lightning. And when you mash the gas, definitely nowhere near the pull of the Lightning.... I did like the realtime gas mileage meter in the gauge cluster and the nice and big built in GPS and Microsoft Sync.... Stock sound system wasn't too shabby either, but I definitely like the feel of the Lightning better when driving, the power and S/C whine, and also the look/style.

put some different gears in that bitch and you will feel the difference. Only thing you will be missing then is the blower whine. and you can record that and play it in the DVD player while you shift.

Not possible, the Limited only comes with the 6.2

Then he doesn't know what his own vehicle has then because that's what he said was in it, lol. I wouldn't know since I could care less about the Limited, heh.

2011 SCREW ecoboost as my new daily driver... it sits outside as the Lightning is in the garage. It is too bad you can't get the ecoboost in the standard cab because with a little tuning and some suspension work that thing would scoot.

you obviously have the mushroom stamp of the noob on your forehead

just because ford only made a few trucks like yours, it is still a base model F150 with manual windows and a manual trans and probably an underpowered 4.2L V6 because i think only the Nascar version came with the 4.6L and a manual trans.... thought this was a lightning owners forum anyway???
