Anyone ever see this before...

It looks like maybe it was running to lean which caused this.

+2, my friend did this doing a highway pull in his supercharged s2000(honda) ran lean, because he was only on 93 octane(tuned and normally 100). it was funny because when we seen this we wondered how he drove the car home from gingerman raceway, about 2.5hr drive from home.

No contact, it melted the strap off the plug also. The car is tuned and mildly at that. All the other plugs/cylinders looked great. Looks like it just starting draining the rail, went lean, knock sensors probably kicked in and prevented anymore damage. The car actually ran ok, I made it about 10-12 miles home. It ran a little rough at idle, but at cruising speed felt normal.

#7 and #8 are prone to overheating due to hot coolant pooling in the area. Localized overheating could have caused your problem, just a thought. Make sure you get a cooling mod on the drivers head when you put it all back together.
