I chose to have expensive hobbies, cars and watches. I have about 15+ watches, two Omega Seamasters, two Rolex Date-Justs (Inherited, one in stainless steel, the other in a half 18kt. gold band with 18kt. gold through the watch), one Breitling Avenger II, one TAG Heuer Aquaracer Calibre 5 and one Calibre 16, Vintage 1950-1962 Omega Seamaster in flawless condition (it's been serviced of course), one Hamilton Auto Chono Field Day/Date, a couple Seiko 5s, one Citizen Eco-Drive, and maybe 7+ Bulovas, about 5 of them being all vintage.
Anyways, i've been saving for my dream watch that is basically the most i'm willing to spend one a watch. A Zenith El Primero. The same movement Rolex used in their Daytona for a decade before since it was such a great design. For anyone who doesn't know, Rolex Daytonas sell for anywhere between $55k-$100k+, emphasis on the +. The El Primero costs $9,500, but can be found new for $7,500 and it has the trademark unique 1/10 of a second movement. Just as i'm a manual transmission snob on cars, i'm an automatic movement snob on watches.
Anyways, on from my life story, Breitling makes a Ford Mustang themed watch, it's subtle, but it's of course a Mustang watch with the running horse below the 12 o' clock position and the rear of the watch shows the classic Tri-Bar Mustang Logo. Also I should note this watch also comes in a red face with the Corvette twin flag symbol, a Triumph, a Shelby Cobra, and two other styles i'm not honestly familiar with brand-wise.
It's not just a watch slapped on with a running horse logo, it has in-house Breitling 25 movement, 28k VpH, 38 jewels, 100M water resistance, cambered sapphire crystal, their classic anti reflective coating which can change the hue of some of the watch face a different color indoors, but under direct sunlight it looks as pictured, 42mm diameter, which is about the largest size I would wear. The trend in going back down to 36-39mm. Of course it's a true chronograph with a sweeping second hand with the pushers and the calfskin leather band looks perfect on this watch with the green face contract IMO. Only problem is Breitling didn't make many of each of there watches and they can be hard to find, sort of like the 50th anniversary Omega Speedmaster silver snoopy edition.
