I am going to put on my 2.8 but I haven't purchased an idler pulley. Is it primarily to keep extra tension on the blower pulley or is there an issue with the belt bring thrown off under hard accelereation. Thanks in advance.....

You will! A 2.80 is too small a diameter pulley and the belt IS going to slip eventually. If your 2.80 is a "non-slip" pulley you'll be at best borderline. No way is a 2.76 not going to slip without an idler. Why risk it? Go with at least one idler.Originally posted by sso2028

Oh, most definitely. You shouldn't have any issue at all. Even if the belt does slip a bit you'll just get some belt dust. Maybe lose a couple of hp. Nothing major! Where are you getting your idler?
