the frpp shafts are crap anyway.

Just get a custom shaft. The quality is not even comparable.

To 19blkcbra99: Take a look at the link below for a possible 99 cobra driveshaft. The difference between yours and an 01 is that the T-45 has a 28 spline yoke and the T-3560 has a 31 spline yoke.

To 01MGSVT: Take a look at the link above for a description of the advantage of using an aluminum driveshaft. Also, do a search on "driveshaft" or "aluminum". There are a couple good threads on the subject.

The M-4602-J driveshaft fits all 1996-1998 Cobra and GT, 1999-2001 Cobra and 1999-2004 GT, 2001 Bullitt, 2003-2004 Mach1 (It will not fit the 2003-2004 Cobra)

All you need is M-4602-J and yes like I've been saying for years, they are a direct fit.

FRPP/FORD's Alum driveshaft quality is good enough for the 03-04 Cobra, why not the 99-01 Cobra as well?

Thanks for the helpful info. my car is not a 600 hp monster so an off the shelf frpp DS should be plenty strong for me.

Stock length DS is 44.5 center to center so I dont see how you can get an extra inch in there with the FRPP driveshaft. I have maybe an 1/8th of play in mine.

I know this has been beat to death and I personally know some have had success but the "J" driveshaft purchased last week does NOT fit my 2001 Cobra convertible (3650 and IRS). I am at least 0.5" (more likely 1") too long. I'm not saying others haven't had success but in my case it does not fit. Off to get it cut!

It should STILL be able to mount up.

Sounds to me like you might have either broken motor mounts or damaged bushings somewhere.
