Made it to the track yesterday.
This is the fourth pass on the new motor and first pass on 17" MT ET Street 28x11.5x17s
Drove it 35 miles there and 35 back.
Pretty warm and not great DA 1500'
No WOT box or 2-step, both are installed but I wanted to try just on my skill.
Other than Racestar 18/17s, it's exactly as I drive on the street, swaybars, big brakes, full interior, half tank pump gas E85.
Next 2 passes the track was going away and warm, then had to leave for a wedding.
Hoping for 9s at next race on 11/4, should do it with cooler weather.
May also use 2-step for launch consistency.

Nice pass J, definitely see 9s in your future. What wheel and tire setup are you running on that thing on the street now and how's the traction?

Street set up same as before, 20x11" widened stockers and 315/35/20 NT05R. Needless to say no traction.
Needs warm tires and suspension on soft to hook in third :)
Next year I'm doing a custom street 19/18" combo to run the 315/40/18 Demon NT05R or the 325/40/18 MT.
I just spoke with Bogart and Wilwood on Friday and I'll upgrade the drag set up to 17/16" for 28x13.5x16 Hoosier QTPs.
Lots of plans for my version of ultimate street/strip GT500.
The TVS2650 and fuel system should help too :)

Sick pass—congrats! Just shave one tenth off that 60’ and you’re there.

Thanks guys. It's not usually mid-70s here so some better weather and a clean launch and it's there. These are not easy cars to race. Suspension would help a ton but I'm not ready to compromise it that much just yet.

Congrats! Your car is so sick!

It is going to be amazing to row gears to a 9 sec pass and 145+ mph.

Man style! Lol.

How much timing in the car? I'm a little surprised she doesn't crack 150 with the power you're making.

Car looks awesome!

Did you have to alter rear brakes to fit the 17”s?

I’ve been wanting to switch to the bias ply MT tire but doesn’t seem they make it for an 18” wheel...and I’m not sure if a 17” will clear the stock rear brake.

Looks great, J.

I'd get the 9 sec slip before using the 2step etc. Just to say you've done it. :)

You've got it!

Darkstars 17x10.5 no problem but it stretches the ET R and they make a 17x9.5 that should work.
I will say these tires even at 16psi move and float around. I've experienced it before but at 145mph swaying through the lights you have to ignore your brain and make minor adjustments as with TC totally off you're locked in sport steering and that can be bad. I let the car drive itself forcthe most part and just stay WOT.
Just a heads up for those not expecting bias ply

Thanks buddy that's the plan but I'll have WOT box/2-step programmed for 11/4 just need good weather.
Might trailer it there but eventually I want to drive it there and back and rip a 9.
