Airstrip Attack Roll Racing Feb 25, 2012

I'm surprised that nobody's posted about this yet, but there was a runway event this last weekend. The event is a 1/2 mile race with a rolling start. Cars would line up and start rolling. They had 1/10 of a mile to get up to speed (typically 50mph) to the first cone. From that cone to the 2nd cone is a 1/2 mile straight.

Ryan, I had a lot of fun at the event. I learned quite a bit and I'm looking forward to doing the next one.

It was a bit far out there, but keep in mind that people came from North Cali, Vegas and Socal so this was decided to be central.

I'll post more vids as I see them. Ryan can chime in more on this but I think they intend to do more 1/2 mile races as well as 1/4 mile races (from a roll). I think the 1/4 mile one would probably open the door up to a lot of other cars too that are fast but just didn't have the gearing for a 1/2 mile.
