Just curious on the life expectancy of fans come with afco dual fan heat exchanger

Also would it be better to connect the signal wire to radiator fan instead of inter cooler pump?

Friend of mine and I talk about this and sorta make sense. The intercooler pump runs all the time, but there is really no need to have h/e fan to be on while going down interstate.

Anyone connect it this way?

No, connect it per instructions. If you wish to make a switched connection, so be it, but the heat exchanger pump and fans
work in harmony.

Couldn't tell you regarding the life expectancy, but my guess is a ton.

BJ, aren't the fans rated to run for so many hours over their lifetime at so many amps?

Sure, like anything.

SPAL has guaranteed their fans for 3 years. Thus, true expectancy is likely twice that.

I've seen 6000-7000 hours batted around, too. So, at the low end at 2 hours of use per day (7 days a week, 52 weeks a year) that's 8 years.

Long.

The I/C pumps on the GT500's are not on full time like the 03-04 Cobra's or Lightnings. They are on a thermostat, therefore, the fans will also be on the same thermostat. Your tuner obviously can change this, but just wanted to clarify. Also, as BJ stated, the fans will last a real long time.
