Ok, I found an Oxford White 98 Cobra with 93k miles. There's some minor things it needs, but the one thing concerning me is a "ticking" sound coming from the driver's side valve cover. I've searched and found a lot of info but it ranges from "it's normal" to its the lash adjusters that need to be replaced. I have an Oxford White 94 Lightning and wanted to get another matching SVT.

He's asking $3k, kinda hard to pass up, but I don't want to buy it if I have to do any extensive engine work

Can you have the engine checked out at a shop? If not, can you do a leak-down test?

Too bad you didn't get it. The items that seemed to need repair weren't a whole lot of money, but would require a good amount of time to fix.

I wouldn't buy a 96 - 98 Cobra with a tick in he engine without expecting to pull the motor and find a spun bearing. Ha ha.
