I was wondering, in picture 2 is that a gouge in the cylinder wall?

Nope no gouges. I'll try to get some better pic. up. It's oil dripping down, I wiped the walls with oil to prevent any surface rust and when I put the block on its side to take pic. the oil was dripping down
