I assume that's the same car that set the new lap record at Spa (yeah, beat Lewis Hamilton's best lap in his W08). Porsche took the 919, stripped out the interior (it's all relative), ditched the headlights and wiring, etc., and uncorked the motor so it puts out 1160 hp. Insane stuff. Looks like a video game.

Well, uncorked it was faster than Hamilton's F1 car at SPA. But to be fair the F1 cars are limited as well.

Bingo, they’re not even close to being at their full potential, but rules prevent teams from going bonkers. F1 engines have to last numerous races, premature failure, power unit replacement results in grid penalties.

I have no doubts even a back marker car like a Williams F1 on full kill with no power unit restrictions, aero restrictions could go faster.

Just uncorking F1 fuel flow regulations will take it over the top of the 919.. Very cool to see how restricted those car really are!!
