*well, not exactly, but it damn sure felt like it at 2ºF and ice for as far as you could see. Two Sundays ago I went to Michigan for a visit with my family. The day I was driving home was the day Virginia (and pretty much the entire east side of the country) was experiencing those 40MPH winds and the drastic temperature change. This said weather is what contributed to the following pictures. Anyways, upon my return to Michigan, we got the stupid idea to walk out onto the pier to see how iced up the lighthouse was. The pictures speak for themselves...

This is how the lake froze. That is a giant pile of ice that's probably at least 40 foot thick that spans the entire shore. This is the first I've ever seen Lake Michigan this frozen:
