My family and some of my wife's family are in Memphis, TN. We'd like to get as close as possible- so I'm trolling around Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and Arkansas. I think this move will be tougher then when we came down here. Coming down I received relocation assistance because I was in hot demand due to proprietary knowledge in credit card processing. That very knowledge is what limits me on opportunities.

I think Huntsville Madison area of Alabama is up and comeing. Close to Tenessee to boot. I love it there.

about the housing costs in FL, my dad has been in his house (just outside of Leesburg, nowhere NEAR the really expensive places) and his property value has almost TRIPLED in the last 5 years...it's insane...
BTW the new house we're building is ~164K for 1525 sq ft, 2 car garage, 3 bed, 2.5 bath...etc...
