5.4 '00 R Alternator replacements

hello all, joining up as I need help for finding what Ford can not seem to find

My 00 R 5.4 alternator finally has died, Ford can not seem to find one, I need your help on locating the rare part that is my alternator

I don't know, I have not had to work on the alternator before, it has lasted 17 years before finally dying.

Some one at the dealer suggested it might be the same as a Lightning, but I do not know.

Is there anything special about having it rebuilt?

Also, what makes it so unique that there is nothing that can be fitted from other models?

Yes, the easiest solution is to have it re-built. If you don't want to rebuild it yourself, there are shops that rebuild alternators. Going this route is a good way to keep your '00 Cobra R all original, if that is important to you.

96-98 Mustang GT is the application for this alternator.
