Break-in most people don't really observe one. The manual with the car isn't specific to V6 vs V8 and just says avoid extended WOT for first 100 miles, generally alter speed/rpm constantly first 300 miles, and don't lug the engine first 1000 miles. Boss 302 is a little more stringent, around 1000 mile break in. As for the oil, I've heard speculation the factory oil is a special break in oil, but I asked the dealer that replaced my engine last month about what oil they used, and it's just regular synth blend motorcraft.
