Nasvt, I read the article on the mach with much interest. You think stage 2 comp cams and the ported intake could get a new edge to the 370 mark? My car makes 322 right now and if I could put cams in the engine and get 370 then I would be very happy. I already have a ported intake/spacer combo.
Bumping up up the compression ratio and a stroker will add power all by themselves without changing anything else in the motor, another 21 cubic inches and 1.3 points of compression would get you to where the new motors are spec wise, you wont make as much power of course but its a good step.
using a 5.0 block or punching out your exhisting block for new sleeves and a stroker on top of that will def. get you some power and the ever elusive torque we all want
No need to swap a 5.0, buy a 5.0, or anything like that. If you want to go fast, buying a new 5.0 isnt what you want to do. Far cheaper options for the track than that.
