I am hoping to get some feedback because I'm considering installing 4.10 gears in my Terminator that makes 583 RWHP. Is this too much gear? This is not a daily driver.

Way too much gear unless you plan a 28" tall tire

Well I take that back, that might be good for a 130mph trap...?

I'd still run 3.73s

That much power and 4:10's! Yeah you would need a tall tire, heck you have so much tq down low already, does it hook well now? If not 4:10's will make it much much worse.

I have a set of 305/35/18 Mickey Thompson DR's on the back. It just seems like my Trq feels weak? I've trapped 125 MPH in 1/4.

I wouldnt change them then....for the $$$ your not going to see much imo. I just went from 4.10s to 3.73s and the car really didnt lose anything...a little acceleration in 1st but pulls harder up top

That car should trap more than 125! And I would switch to 3.73s if you are running 26" tire.

I'm confident that it will trap more than 125 MPH, it's just that the day i went to the track my first pull wasn't pretty and it had been about 4 years since I was last on the track. I made about 4 passes and the best trap was 125 MPH with a 60' of 2.0. Not anything I'm proud of, but that's the facts.

Changing gears from 3.55 to 4.10's is a bad idea in a 03/04 cobra. These car have so much tq from 2k rpms and up they don't need gears. Unless you are going to drag race it. IMO it's waste of money.

No! It's a great idea! 4.10's in the 03/04 kick major ass if you know how to adjust suspension correctly. They pull like a train and the car never stops pulling! 1st and 2nd gear in a cobra with 4.10's and traction is like sex. You better hold on for the ride haha. But for almost 600hp my vote is on the 3.73's.

I have 4:10's in my 03 cobra with 470hp. I just street drive mine and I spend more time in 6th gear than I should. With 295 tires in the rear I spin first and second gear. But in 3rd gear and up it pulls hard and fast. I actually want to go to a 3:55 which I think is stock.

If we're not talking about drag strip performance and just street driving would 4.10 or 3.73 be the better choice for a cobra with arnd 600rwhp

i have 4.10s, theyre fun but i wanna go back to 3.73s, its real annoying when your going 85mph and your rpms are like @ 3000....

had 410s. It got old. I have 3.27s now with an iron IRS housing and love them. Plan on POSI or a whipple. Plus Im averaging 23-25mpg with the 327s. With 410s I was down to 16 mpg average at one point. Unless this is an all out drag car I wouldn't go more than 373s. Really depends on mods and what you plan to do with the car.

410s with 500whp on my mach1 but a 28'' tire is a necessity, even with a torque arm and full suspension. I love the 410s but my second pick would be 3.90.

3,73.....but if you already have 3.55s in there save yourself the $500-600

Iron IRS housing? Did you get that from a Lincoln? I thought about doing the swap. Do you feel it was worth it? Did everything bolt up the same?
