3M waterproofing spray on my intake filter?

I bought a car and the guy put this hood on it.

As you can see in the front right of the image there is a big open hole under the hood that flows from a ram air port ontop of the hood. I'm trying to figure out a way to stop water from being direct injected onto my air filter. My dad joked with the idea of just 3M water proofing the filter. Would that even work? Unfortunately no one makes a water bypass valve for our intakes.

Ditch the Super Snake hood and buy a stock or different one, buy a closed box CAI, or go back to the stock box.

No. There is a opening right above the driver side hood strut.

My next question is would sit flow if it blew into the hood an that release port was blocked cause problems for the hood bend flex or even lift?
