Hey all,

Just thought I would finally get some pics up for those who may be interested in seeing how these look since I finally got the hood on and painted lol Hood is made by Trufiber, pins by Quick-Latch, overall VERY happy with the finished product!!!! I'm short (5'7") and can still see over this thing no prob. They advertise it as a 3", but the second step alone measures that much. From top of cowl to plastic trim on windshield is approx. 5".

Can you do me a favor and measure the width between where the cowl points come together on the hood? The space between where the cowl portion starts? I'd like to put a cowl hood on my GT500 but with my stripes I'm having trouble finding a hood that I can run the stripes on without them running down the side of the cowl portion.

Kind of like measure this width between these two points? Thanks.

Hey good sir!! Sorry it took me a few days to get this checked for you! I went out and measured this morning, and it's approx. 20" between the inboard lines & where they begin to start. I hope this helps!!! **measurement taken at the fwd most leading edge on the hood**

Looks good. What locations on the core support did you use for the latches?

They used the outermost rubber hood stops. The brackets had to be modified, as the pins are mounted at an angle, but it came out very clean. And I can trust the hood is VERY secure with all 3 points. Plus, these don't look gaudy at all, which was a major plus!!

Sorry to bump your old thread chris, but competition,

Did you ever find a solution to this? I am having the same issue right now. I've seen one car ( a GT though), that had stripes on this cow, and they just let the edges of the stripes come down over the bottom parts of the cowl. It looked ok, BUT it was a black car with flat black stripes. Mine are red and not so subtle. I've considered having the striped modified to get skinner at the front to match the cowl, but that sounds pretty takcy as well. Just thought I'd see if you have any solution for this yet. I haven't measured mine to comfirm, but I believe our stripes are 21.5" at the front of the hood.

Harwood makes cowl that *looks* wider (maybe?), but I haven't found dimensions yet. Not sure about the cervinis hood either, but it's not quite as agressive as the trufiber. Ugh lol.

I was just browsing the Trucarbon website a few minutes before I saw this topic. I really wanted to know what one of these cowl hoods looked like on a GT500. I'm considering the Carbon version and I was also wondering how the stripes would look at the leading edge of the hood. Do they have any provisions for reusing the factory latch? I'm not a fan of hood pins.
