I'm running a off road 3"exhaust from headers back and it has a bit of a drone some one told me if I I run a second X pipe under the Irs it will give me better back pressure and torque and help with the drone.... Any truth in that? I have a ported Eatonbut looking to go e85 twin screw in the near future

A second "x" may help a bit but it is your 3" exhaust that is causing the drone. Anytime you change the speed of the exhaust sound waves, you change the tone and usually end up with a drone issue. This is what I did to try and get rid of it. I still have a very small amount of drone in a 100rpm range but my car is as quiet as stock. Lol!

I'm not too sure about the power differences between the two "x" types. My center muffler has a more straight type internal "x" and the rear is more of a "+" turned 45 degrees.

Thanks! Some nights I get bored so I put it up on the lift and start cleaning. I got bored one night so I polished the clutch cable cover and drive shaft. Lol!
The only sound clip I have is an idle video

That was the whole point of the M-58 (i.e., FR-500) exhaust, and it works perfectly, but with specialized mufflers. Plenty of torque down low and great flow at higher RPM's when the doors inside the mufflers open.

Not sure about that with those 3" pipes though, you might be out of luck. Then again, so many guys think "loud" is the way to go.

My car has the FR500 catback, but the previous owner swapped out the mufflers for Flowmaster Super 40's, i don't know wtf he was thinking :nonono:

It still drones around 1800-2000 rpm with the Flowmasters
