Well I am at that point of where I haven't spent barely any money on my 02 GT and could sell it and recoop most of my money on it and look for something different (4v cobra or new 5.0) or start building the car I want. The one thing that is stopping me is for how much its going to take to get where I wanna be power wise and would think it would be better starting with a better platform such as a 4v or a new 5.0..

So my question for who has put the time and effort into a 2v, do you regret not just starting with something else?

I have a built motor, ported heads, cams, long tubes, tork tech setup with a Posi eaton, all the fuel stuff and a built rear. I love it and put a hurt on lots of 4v's and 5.0's. if I could the only thing I would do over is maybe go turbo but the eaton pulls from the get go.

I have a built 2v and a procharged 5.0. I love modding the 5.0 a lot more, it's easier and it doesnt take much to make them quick. Plus the chassis is better, better engine/trans, interior/all that other shit.

I'm happy with my 2v but my ideal ride would be a 03/04 oxford white cobra. I should have just gotten that instead of my 2v back in high school. However, It's "Different" seeing a modded/built/strong running 2v. I had my mind set on getting a cobra after college, but I've been eyeing c6 z06's recently.

Either way you go, cars are money pits. It's going to cost lots of time and $$$$$$$$ to make a car fast. No matter what.

Sometimes I do sometimes I don't. I passed on an Azure blue mach 1 with 84K miles for $14.1K then an SVTP member showed me his bullitt for $9K & I bought it that same week then months after I saw that azure blue mach 1 riding around town.

But anyway 2V's get frowned upon b/c their "slow" & regular bolt-ons just don't do enough but just like stated above if you have money you can blow the doors off anything. I'm starting to see more and more 2V builds & it's keeping me motivated to keep my bullitt & throw a blower on it or just build it period. You don't need a 4V to blow doors off it all boils down to $$ what YOU want to do with it. When you start adding boost the numbers are endless.

My goal is just to have a mean looking mid-12 sec mustang. A blower or cams would get me there on a safe tune before I have to forge the motor. So with the $7K difference between my car and that mach 1 at the time if I put that $7K in my car he'll be looking at my GT emblems blow his doors off.

I ve always wanted an 03 cobra in the worse way but since I ve been modding my 2v I haven't looked back especially after I boosted my car... If u got the money get a cobra but at the same time dump a couple grand in ure 2v and you'll be keeping up with bolt on cobras ...

I regret not buying a Mach1 or Cobra to be honest. When I bought my GT the dealers were asking way more then I wanted to pay for a car. Even talking them down a few grand they were still to expensive. I look back now and realize that I could have made it happen.

My biggest regrets however are not doing what I really wanted to do with the car right off the bat. As the car sits right now it is on its second blower and second suspension setup. This all adds up to around 5gs I could have saved. That's why I tell everyone to do it ONCE!

As the car stands now people think it's just lowered with some larger wheels and tires so they think they can hand me my ass from a light. I have a good time allowing them to get familiar with the rear end of a new edge thanks to my KB.

I have a built on blown 2v. Yes my dream car is a sonic blue cobra but I would never sell my car for one. I love my 2v. It gets more attention and impresses more people when I show up a 4v. But I will one day also own a 4v.

The big thing going for the 02 is that its paid off. I just bought a 2012 Ram, so I really don't want another car payment so I guess the big thing in my mind is keep it and try to get to the power level I want (600-700rwhp).

I dont regret anything about my car. I think it looks better than stock termis and its also faster than most. Not to mention i have a lot less into my car than you would pay for a termi. Not knocking them at all but i would never pay the price for one. Stick with your car and build it to what you want.

I've got a 2V and love it. My thinking is telling the LS guys they got outrun by a 2V and it eats them up. I've just started my build I bought a used Mmr 5.0stroker with fox lake heads and am tearing it down to have valve reliefs cut and new rings and bearings. I blew head gasket and burnt 2&4 pistons all stock PI motor with 10psi P1SC and 125shot. I'm going to go turbo and thinking about selling my current set up air/air intercoer p1sc with 3.2 pulley. I've not second guesses buying my 2V yet. It's all in what you want.

I keep my GT because I paid cash and its cheap. I have built 2 different engines for it now. I could have paid 18-20 for an 03-04 with some mods but I'm trying to save for a house. I already have a truck I dd so I just use the car here and there. A built 2v with even a small centri blower won't break the bank and will make plenty of power to hurt some feelings.

I decided I am going to keep the car and slowly build the car that I want. It may not be the fastest but it will make a nice cruiser car and hopefully some 10sec passes.

If your car is paid off, then it would be silly to go get a 4v. These 2v have a ton of potential. There are many cobra's around me to see the taillights of my lil 2v. I'm running or was till this past weekend, mid to low 10's. and I did it with the amount of money you would spend to go buy a terminator that will need a lot of mods to get to where I'm at. 600$ zex kit on top of my blower would really put a hurting on the high end terminators.

I can rant a long time on and on about this. If you have a paid off 2v and wanting to go fast, build it. Cause by the time you buy the coyote or cobra then you have to mod it and still pay on the car and still be slower cause you don't have the funds yet to build the cobra like you would've with the 2v.

Basically, you should of started with the 4v or coyote.

Stick with it. Buy a built short block and put 18 psi through it. Then build the heads with cams. And baby you will be a gear jammin mofo. Rock on 2v lol

Don't have a single regret modding my car, it's what I started with and what I intend to finish with. Sure there will be other cars I buy someday but the goal is for this one to hang around for the rest of my life and eventually every little piece be built. Unfortunately this topic will forever be beaten to death, I think it all boils down to what you want to pay initially. If you're looking for something relatively cheap to have fun with a 2v is definitely the way to go. But if you're ok paying the OUTRAGEOUS price for a 10 year old cobra then by all means start with one of those.

^^^this. I couldn't justify spending near 20 grand on a car that I would have pulled everything out that made it a 20k car.

There are a lot of things that you can do. I found a wrecked terminator and built one hell of a sweet sleeper. I love it when people try to pick on me and i turn around and walk away. Its always great to see their faces.
