More so looking at it for OD. On a 20x9 vossen.
With a 315/35/20 rear it puts OD close. With tire options for front now car had a rake.

275/40. 28.62"
315/35. 28.74"

I run 255/40's (28") with a rear tire of very close height to what you mention and really like the slight raked look. The sidewall is short, but not like a rubber band like most people run. With stock springs and my TVS up front, it looks lowered as the gap is very small, but is actually right at the stock ride height from the fender lip to the ground. Makes it nice to not have to worry about every little thing in the road.

Yeah it will work. A couple of guys on here have done it. I think it looks like shit though. To much tire.

Depending on your wheel width you might be able to run a 275/35/20. Thats what i run with a 8.5" wide wheel on the front of my 5.0 and it looks good.

Running 255/35 now and seems like not wide enough. Plus the 1.5" diff in OD front to rear.

May just step to 275/35. Haven't decided yet.

Nitto Nt05's all around on the shelby and i just got some used Continentals for the 5.0. They are about gone though so i will probably switch to Michelins, that is what i'm running on the back of it.

275/40 will look retarded. Anything that is 28"+ start to look like shit in the front. Run a 275/35 it will look much better. I've been doing quite a bit of research for the size combo I'm gonna run. I was gonna run a 275/35 and 315/35 combo but the damn back tires have too much sidewall.

I think I'm gonna try to run a 325/30 (27.7 OD)with 275/35 (27.6 OD)

Only problem is only one tire comes in that size. But they come as original equipment tires for alot of BMW, Mercedes, and a few other nice brands.

You are running a 20 x 8.5 on 275/35/20. Wow I thought that wide of tire is borderline dangerous when doing extreme cornering.

Never done any "extreme cornering" to find out. I don't imagine it is though i know quite a few people who run 335's on 10" wheels with no issues.

well not extreme, but hard cornering. Like the ramp on freeway or something. I ask because you no most manufacturers "recommend" 255 max on an 8.5. I just try to get other people feedback when they run wider tires. I'm seriously thinking about a 265/35/20. I feel I need more front tire grip

I don't have the picture anymore but there was a guy on another forum who was dropped as low as I am with 275/40/19 tires on 19X9.5 rims and they fit the fenders perfectly.

Currently have 285/35/19 and thinking 275/40/19 next time to fill the gap in even more. Looked great too me.
