I broke what I think is my input shaft and tob last month....

I'm now stuck with a 26 spline Mccleod RXT twin disk, billet flywheel, ford racing tob, pilot bearing and a new tob retainer sleeve from lethal.

Any word on when tremec is going to make the 26 spline shaft again? I read an old thread where someone said that they would be shipping them out any time soon.. Any truth to that?

I heard that there was a limited supply, but also I just got 26 spline from liberty a few months back. I'd call them and ask if they have any or can make you one.

I believe Liberty. I have a D&D unit which I think is made by tremec. I've also heard the d&d is a 1 piece unit where as the liberty is a 2 piece unit. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I thought both of them came from tremec? Anybody know if a trans shop can make me an input shaft?

I remember reading that the Liberty units were a welded 2 piece and people were breaking them where they were welded. I'm also still waiting for Tremec to produce them again.

Yup, that's what I found too. That's what determined my purchase with a d&d unit.

What is the word tho? Are they gonna make them again or are we out of luck? I'm sure a t56 is old news for tremec now. They have so many other trans to worry about.

At this point i wouldn't mind buying either one of those. I'm stuck with $1400 worth of parts and a broken car

I hear you, I'd buy either one if I was in the same predicament.

You'll be fine with either. I have a liberty 26 spline/600hp and it works great. You need to remember most of the guys breaking these. Are at the strip with slicks and are dumping the clutch at 3800 rpm.

With most of driving ours on the weekends or DD for that matter. You'll be fine.

I bought a built T56 from Rockland Standard Gear out of NY two years ago for my car and it came with a 26 spline. I'm sure they're still selling transmissions with 26 spline input shafts in them, but I don't know where they get them from or if they're made in house. Maybe you can give them a call and see if they can sell you just an input shaft. It's worth a shot.

There was a thread on here, one of the members called Tremec and was told they would have new batches out to distributors this month.

Was talking numbers with the wife and...

My twin disk RXT and steel flywheel will bolt right up to a t56 magnum right? I know they come with 26 spline input shafts.

I might just bite the bullet and kill 2 birds with one stone, upgrade the tranny and have that "unicorn 26 spline shaft" to use my clutch/flywheel on. What the going rate for my t56?
