Y’all ready to see all the haters from the last 2 year give you all lots of internet props and high fives after they see what these cars are doing in tests and reviews?

Gone are the days of the 2007 gt500 where it looked killer but didn’t do much over a terminator albeit $15k pricier.

You guys are about to get a car that can go toe to toe with exotics for $75-100k. Yes it’s money, but it’s also incredible performance for that money at every level.

Just drag radials will get you guys low 10’s. The real limit to acceleration is in the factory tires. Even the sticky carbon pack cars tread is no match for a drag radial.

The car probably has a 3.0 or better 0-60 in it on a great drag radial vs the claimed mid 3’s. That means the assumed 10.75-10.6 1/4 miles will probably end up dropping to 10.25-10.5 with just a drag radial. Throw in a race gas or e85 tune, and slicks and your looking at the easiest 9 second mustang in history.

(In perfect conditions as the demon needs to run 9.65@140.)

My vin# is 0624. I was originally told build week of 10/21 but when I called Ford, the guy said he went back and it was never 10/21, but rather, build week of 10/28, but he did say it now has an official build DAY of 10/30.

I'm not thinking so. I think the 0-60 will be the 3.5 or a little less with the drag radials.
In the quarter mile, I'm guessing 11 or high 10's with drag radials.

I'm not ragging on the car, I love it and I definitely would have gotten/ordered one, but well, you know why many haven't by now.
I'm just giving my personal opinion on it. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Nick, if you get a minute can you check my build date again? Now I'm seeing more and more guys getting bumped a second time, many to the end of October...

Sweet mother of God. It did. Build week 10/28.

GOOD NEWS THOUGH.

The Build date is also 10/28, so it cannot be pushed back or changed now.

Also, you know you can text me at any time ;)

I just talked to Austin he stated mine is scheduled to roll off the assembly line 10/28.
I repeated the question and he said off the assembly line.

IT DOES?!?!!?!?!? lol I guess I am late to the game. lol
I'm still sticking with the high 10's in the quarter mile with drag radials. (Just a hunch. lol)

Haha I get what yer saying. I do think this one will run easy 10’s though. It’s dct/no real human input except launch control and floor it haha. Hopefully the majority of buyers do well.

“Sub 11 second quarter miles” “and not 10.98” has been said on various occasions

My guess is 10.6@133 to be a strong healthy number just as 12.7@113 was strong healthy for 03 cobra’s. Most cobra’s ran 12.7-13.3@108-112.

Hero cobra’s ran [email protected] at Even J Smith’s hands. I think I’m a similar situation, a 2020 gt500 might have a 10.2@138 in it with a near perfect launch. Won’t be much mph to gain on the top end even in expert hands, but amazing weather conditions might be able to nab 5mph above the average.

I'll agree with that.
The DCT will play a huge part in getting the beast down the strip.

Ford won’t give us numbers for at least another month.

Question to everyone who ordered their GT500. Those should be arriving at dealers in the next few weeks. Are you calling your dealer every day to gain more info on when it is delivered, or are you following it online to see the build process? What will you do when the car is delivered? Be there when it comes off of the truck, and you take possession of it before "dealer prep" or will you let them touch your car? I am just curious to see how all this is controlled? Any info you want to share will be great!

I bet the track pack cars are 3-4mph slower at the strip but just about as quick et with the stickier launch. Maybe 10.75@130 vs 10.6@133-134.
