Let me see if I understand you correctly, as Shelby owners wined and cried about this in 2012 when the 2013 released......

Now you're saying the car is crap because the V6 version shares the same styling. Damn, this illness IS contagious.

Haters gonna hate...never ends.

Where did I say it was crap?

By the way, I think it would be more accurate to say that the GT shares the V6's styling.

...That being said, most Camaro fans assume that all cars need big brakes and thick tires to be a handler. Well, that's not entirely true... The Camaro needs big brakes because it is fat and absolutely needs them. It needs fat tires because again, it's fat @$$ needs them. If the next GT500 weighs 3500lbs, then 14 inch disc are as large as you really want to go...

Absolutely. Look at the S2000s, Miatas, RX7s (even RX8s), GT86/BRZs and the likes. Those are magnificent handling machines because of its total and weight distribution. All of that w/ 245s tires max from factory. Obviously, they're smaller and underpowered when compared to the Muscle but excellent platforms to work with nonetheless. Looking at that prototype, the new Mustang is considerably smaller than the S197, w/ an advanced IRS and when you paired those characteristics w/ the awesomely Coyote engine, you got a finesse road machine.

Man, you are smoking crack. The 2013/14 is the best looking S197 GT to date.

You are correct. The 2013-14 mustang looks absolutely amazing. If I had a 2011-12 5.0 I'd take off the hood, frontbumper/grill, and ulgy rear tailights for the new and improved looking 13-14 pieces.

In fact the 2013-14 mustang in my opinion is one of the best looking mustangs ever made, and almost in the same rank as the 1965-1970 fastback mustangs.

100% agree. Imo, it would have to be really something over the top in the next gen to dethrone the 13-14' in looks.

Im the opossite, the only thing I like about the 13-14 is the rear. If I buy a 13-14 Stang the 1st thing I'd change would be the front end. 11-12 dome hood and front bumper w/ Saleen grill and LS boss lower clip diffuser = Win!

This is what i'm gonna do to my 12, just waiting on the cash flow for the rear swap and deciding if I wanna wet my pants with a vortech supercharger first or go for aesthetics...

I approve this message.

Recently, two Mustang GT's were driving side by side down the interstate, I was following both cars. A 2012 and a 2013. Even my girl agrees, the 2013 destroys the 2012 in looks (front to rear).

The 2005 to 2009's remind me of the 1964-1966. The 2010 to 2012's reminded me of the 1967 the most (my favorite of the 1st era) while the 2013-2014 were 1968-1969 through and through. I'm will to bet, if you asked the '05-'14 owner what 1st gen they would want, a majority of them would pick their favorite accordingly. The '05-'09 has a classic look while the '10-'12's maintained most of that classic and added in a tad more muscle. The '13-'14 took on even more muscle and has a built-in premium look about it. What Ford did, was cater (unbeknownst to most of us) to each and every design language of the original. Everything but the 1970... The '70 would be hard to pull off coming from the '13-'14. Sadly, I fear most associate the '70 as Boss's anyway due to the 302 and 429 invasion of motorsport.

In my opinion, the 2010-2012's look the best. I agree the rear tail lights on the new ones are awesome, I just like the car in general. I do have the Roush front fascia though... I think the '10-'12 Roush fascia's were the best fascia next to the '13-'14 GT500. Shelby's GT350 was bad ass too.

Kevin, the 2005-2009 styling made me love Mustang all over again. I was anti-Mustang through the SN95 and New Edge years.

I think it comes down to....

What they tease us with, and what we actually get.

The problem I have with the 11+ is the rear end. To me it looks like it belongs on a sedan. That's a shame since that is what most people will be looking at if your driving a Mustang correctly. I'm still holding my judgement on the new car as I absolutely hated the concepts for the 05-10 but bought an 06 GT as soon as I could because I thought the production version was perfect. Then I wised up and ditched the stang and upgraded to a Lightning .

I don't see the connection with the current car and the 69s. I own a 69 coupe and feel the 05-10 look more like the 69.

I like all the late model Mustangs, and I'm excited about the next Mustangs but what is up with the exhaust tips !?? I hope that is misdirection for the appearance with those. They look like vatozone universal tips for a cheaply done import ??

When I bought my car, I looked at the 12's and 13's. I came home with a 12. I like the front end on the 12's much better than the 13's, and the 13's tail lights look cool at night, but too busy during the day. I just wish all 12's came with HIDs. 2012 is the best year for the S197 styling.

A friend of mine was at the S550 VP build last week and said, "it's much more euro/Aston Martin looking than the muscle car we known it to be."

I hope so! The AM rendering is the one I'm hoping for!
