Why? The newer mustang has a tighter gear spread but more importantly, E85 tune. I wouldn't expect a 2014 GT to keep up.

Forge the shortblock and add procharger if you can get it tuned.

Unless you really want an updated Mustang, you can inject some more power into that mill in a lot of ways. Just depends on how lofty your goals are. It's definitely not a slouch.

Cheapest 2020 white GT auto I could find (below). I'll spot the 2020 the couple grand for those mods, as that puts the grand total of what I spent on my 14 to run what's in my sig (including buying 14 GT auto new).

The 14 is 400lbs lighter easily. Mine ran 11.3s @122 like clockwork with a E85 tune.

Sucks they didn't get a race at the track with a timeslip to have objective data metrics.

Wouldn't E85 on your car even this race up? I thought the 2020 was going to dog walk you, but nope, close race imo.
