At any given RPM, the flywheel horsepower at that RPM is the product of the engine's torque (ft-lbs) times the speed in RPM divided by 5252. The new Boss 302 makes 444 flywheel HP at 7400 RPM. The corresponding flywheel torque at 7400 RPM is 315 ft-lbs, down from the engine's maximum of 380 ft-lbs at 4500 RPM.
It is not very common for maximum torque and hp to occur at the same RPM. A possible exception is when the engine makes maximum flywheel horsepower at 5252 RPM.
