Do anybody have info on the performance of 2011 mustang automatic? All I can find r the six speed manual performance #'s.:shrug:

He wants numbers for the 6 speed automatic, not the V6...
You don't own a mustang, so guess you wouldn't know that plainly "mustang" usually refers to the V6 model....unless otherwise specified(GT, Mach 1, etc)

I have searched a bunch of forums for the 2011 mustang GT and no one has posted a auto yet, v6 or v8. A few people have mentioned that " They have to unlock the tcm to get the converter to lock and stay in gear for the pull.

I like the idea of a 6 speed auto but why have two overdrives?
Perhaps the 3.15 final drive ratio warrants having a 1.14 4th gear...

The new 6spds, (both manual and automatic) only have one overdrive. It's not like the traditional T56, T6060R we are used to where 4th is 1:1 and 5th and 6th are overdrives. On the new getrag 5th is 1:1 and 6th is the only OD.

Here are the ratios for the new 6spd automatic

1st 4.17
2nd 2.34
3rd 1.52
4th 1.14
5th 0.87
6th 0.69
Final 3.15:1

it's still an overdrive even if it's a comparatively shorter one since it's not 1:1. now the manuals are obviously a different story since the 5th gear is 1:1.

I test drove the AT 5.0 today.
I thought it was balky during slow normal cruising.
That was my point of the test drive, to see how busy the AT will be during everyday driving.
Of course light throttle tip in at around 40mph induced converter lockup :nonono:

Upshifts were good but throttle activated down shifts could have been better.
Maybe next year or so some tranny refinement and paddle shifters
will improve the action of this AT.
Awesome car anyway. Ford has a winner here.
3:73's with the manual would or will be my choice...

I want to see some drag strip times from the auto. My friend just bought an auto, but don't know when we will get it to the track. After riding in it las tnight, I can't believe how far Mustangs have come since 04.
