2010 vs. 2011-2014 struts question

Any reason a 2010 strut won't fit a 2011-2014 GT? Monroe makes a complete replacement for 2010 but no complete with spring and strut for 2011. According to the tech info only minimal dimensional differences.

You can easily run them, you will just need to get the GT500 strut mounts.

I am currently running the 2010 Koni's with GT500 mounts.

Why GT500 mounts? If I ordered the Monroe 172138 would it fit without having to order any mounts? This assembly is ready to install spring and all.

If that's what you want, that Monroe is a fully assembled strut/spring/strut mount unit and should go right in. No disrespect to Monroe, but I doubt you will be happy with ride, ride height and handling. They make good struts and shocks for mundane daily drivers like your neighbor down the street with the honda accord, not GT500s, or mustangs in general.

I agree with 03Sssnake. They may work, but they won't be optimal.

Also to note, the 2010 struts are slightly shorter than the 11-14. So the car will be a little lower if that's what you decide to do.
