I am searching for the differences in the 1000 HP version that recently was introduced and one of them is the rear end I can not find what they mean with: 9 "Ford rearend with 35-spline axles and drag in another article they talk about the custom Currie 9 -inch rearend conversion?.

What is actually the upgrade they do here in the rear end?. Compared to our current stock (in my case) 2008 GT500 rearend is anybody knowing this ..

And what HP and Torque can the stock rear end hold?. anybody?.

They change out the whole rear to a 9". Ford used to run 9" rears in the 60's. They are known for their great strength. The 9" does not have a c-clip to hold in the axles and the gears can be changed by changing the center section. We have an 8.8 in our cars. The 8.8 and 9" refers to the size of the ring gears.

Wow, clear awnser thanks, Is there any documented or proven HP/Torque experience with the 8.8. rear. I am afraid when all is done to my 2008 GT500 and i put the 3.6 Liter supercharger on it, this will be a week point. I like to udnerstand if I need to upgrade it when hitting 1000+ engine HP (not RWHP) on the 8.8

700rwhp. 690ft lbs. Sub 1.50s on a full weight car with the unforgiving beating of drag radials. I stock rear position lasted 27,000 mi. Finally ate it up. 410s most of the time.... Sometimes 373s. Primarily track use.

Now using TruTrac. Factory axles.

I've got an 31 spline Arburn Pro on the shelf. What spline are they stock? Should I switch out the axles when i'm there? Were doing a gear swap in a week or two. I'm just wondering what I should do when we have it all apart. 85% street 600rwhp. Thanks
