So I did a search for a 200 mph Cobra in the Texas Mile and this video came up. It's a supercharged red 03 that went 204.8 driven by Blaine King that's about all the info I've been able to pull.

Does anybody know how much power this thing made at this time? I am looking to run in the mile and would like to get an idea of how fast I'll be going. I know it's different venues now etc.. but just the general ballpark of how much it takes to go 200 in the 03/04's

Thanks in advance for any help guys.

If I'm not mistaken there was a member here who went 200+mph at the Texas Mile.

^^ He got it.

Probably more than the 369/355 in your sig.

as Zhisel said, those are my stock numbers from when i first got it. it makes 620 right now on pump, 18#'s and a stock motor. But I believe we are almost ready to build it, pulley down and spray like a 50-75 shot on it and take it to the Texas Mile

800 rwhp sounds about right for 200+ in a standing mile. Landspeed would probably be slightly higher.

I wouldn't feel comfortable spraying nitrous for a mile. A 1/4 mile is relatively forgiving on an engine compaired to 30-40 seconds wide open in a standing mile. I'd be worried about a solenoid overheating and failing.

You're gonna need around 800hp and 3.27 gears to hit that speed but you wont do it in a mile unless you lose a ton of weight from the car.
I've had mine GPS'd in the 190s and at that speed you're doing a mile every ~18 seconds.
I'd say if you had 1200hp with 3.27s you'd be all over 200 with a regular weight cobra in a dead stop mile. Maybe 1000hp if you had a stripped fully race aero'd one.

No he didn't. Eddie did the landspeed record, which is longer than a mile.

Hey guy. Look at who I quoted.

Eddie's car was also detuned so he could turn 7200 rpm for most of his run. I'm sure it could've come very close to 200mph in a standing mile. His car was also weighed down with a cage and all the required safety equipment(including two fire systems) to legally make that pass.

Without a doubt built motor. I remember reading a thread of a guy who went through 3 motors on the quest to 200mph. Definitely will need at least 3.27s, maybe even 3.08s. I'd also say some good suspension mods and maybe a front splitter?

Uh, yes he did. I don't know who Eddie is or why he matters in this thread, but I was talking about the Cobra in OP's post (Blaine King's). OP asked what it took to run 200mph in a standing mile (at The Texas Mile no less) so BK's FS thread was posted and I noted to OP that his mod list (give or take obviously) was listed there for reference/guidance.

I have nothing to do with whatever this land speed record gibberish is.
