The straw purchaser bought the AR lower online, and had it shipped to Modern Sportsman (MS,) a firearm dealer in south metro. The straw purchaser picked it up at MS on Jan 15, then got it to the animal.

Gun shop owner: Shooter in Burnsville killings possessed firearm illegally through 'straw purchase'
The owner told the Star Tribune that his gun shop 'had no way of knowing' the weapon would end up being in the hands of the man who killed two police officers and a firefighter/paramedic.
