My .02 cents

Before the apten EATON upgrade =

2.80 pulley, NO IDLERS = 472rwhp, 485rwtq

After the apten EATON upgrade

2.80 pulley, NO IDLERS = 492rwhp 464rwtq

2.93pulley, NO IDLERS = 490rwhp 472rwtq

As you can see, by switching to the 2.93 larger pulley, I am running 2 lbs. less boost (safer) and i only lost 2hp. YET I GAINED 8tq.

My results are very odd, but I did make the switch over to the larger 2.93 to be safer.

Just my .02 cents and personal results, not a normal comparison.

Peak numbers. What about under the curve? Can you post a graph with the curves overlayed? I am also a believer in running an idler with a 2.8" pulley. Temp the same? Tune the same? Same day? Same dyno?

How many 2.93 Cars you see going into the low low 11's @ 123-128 ??

I know of plenty of 2.7 & 2.8 cars doing it on a regular basis on various boards. Ive had mine on for over 10k miles, ive drove a handful of modded 2.93 Cars and there is definitely more umphhh with the 2.80.

You can plan the "safe" game all day long, if so, the 2.93 may be for your taste if you wanna hotlap your car time after time after time at the dragstrip, your gonna see the downfall of performance either way.

2.8 gets my vote.

very true broke.
There was definitely more "umphh" with the 2.80 and
they do tend to be more torquey. thats why I said my personal results were odd.

Dom,
Thanks for this info....I have been throwing around the idea of switching to a 2.80 pulley now that my eaton is getting ported. I guess i'll just wait and see how it turns out with my 2.90 when I get my blower back next week. Do you have any dyno graphs you could post?

I just registered Dom. Man, you've done a great job on that site. Congrats! And I see you're pushing the '500' mark with your ride. Cool!
