Just curious as to what everyone is running. I have 2.5 right now but 3" looks so good from behind on the cobras. Thought about switching but I Just don't want my car to be excessively loud as it's already pretty damn loud without the cat.. What are your guys thoughts on exhaust size?

You can get different size tips if that is what you care about. If you are not making the power I would not go too big or lose it down low

This! I'd stick with the 2.5.

Is there a rough HP number or boost number to gauge which size is needed?

I had thought it was around 600rwhp based on some threads from the past, but I would more trust GodStang's '650' number as being correct.

So, pushing roughly +700 through 3" and swapping down to a 2.5" just to get Borla Stingers probably isnt a good idea

"Rule of Thumb" is 100-125 HP per every inch of exhaust...

So, the 650 # above is quite accurate...

RWHP...I should have said...not crank...

So dual 2.5" should handle 450-525ish RWHP

& Dual 3" should handle up to 750ish RWHP

650 is what flowmaster I know says and a few others say for 2.5". I am sure that the power gains going to 3" would still be very small even going up to 700. Now I was hoping to be in the 800s so I went with the 3" all the way.

Two options. Get a 3" kit and just swap to a 3" Stinger muffler or switch to JBA with is 3" stainless and sounds very similar to Stingers.
