The file I uploaded was clear too, until PhotoBucket turned it into a .flv.

Oh well, I guess I can't be a perfectionist all the time. :kaboom:

Yes it can be in the 8s.
It's geared for 32" tires, right now I have the 33.5" tires on it.
I don't like the 32" I have for it.

but even on the 33.5s it should be 9.10-9.20@145-150mph.

We found the throttle linkage flexing and another cable problem that's not letting the carb go WOT.
So what you see is between 3/4 and WOT. It has about 3/16 of an inch to go before it hits the stop.

Will try to get it fixed before tomorrow night. (Planning on going again.

Got to last at least 800 passes.
OR
You can explain to my wife why I'm rebuilding a new motor after 30 runs.

No thanks. I'm still trying to figure out how to explain to my wife why I keep needing new tires.

Maybe I'll just tell her it's Barry's fault. :-D

BTW: You got time to work on the rear brakes on her Explorer?

Looks like lots of FUN!!

And to explain to the wifes----

Blackwood, "Stampede keeps borrowing my tiress"
Stampede, "Blackwood is using the engine and I gotta race, so I need a new engine."

I know wouldn't work for me either!

WOW!!!

Sweet sounds!!!

Are you just stepping on the throttle for now???
It didn't sound like...
Trans brake on...
up on the converter...
release...

I was surprized to see zoomies instead of collectors.... still running a Vacu-pan though  .... but only in one pipe per side.

I would have to clean my shorts after driving that thing!!! It looks like a blast!!!
Take your time you will get it sorted out.
Congratulations!!!

On trans brake at 4000, stall is 4500 so I'm not getting up on the converter.

I want to get more used to driving it and also want it to last a long time.

I may leave it like it is other than fixing the throttle problem
It went 9.56,9.55,9.53
So it has the consistancy I wanted.
I want to win, not worry about being the fastest or making it go faster. (For now)

EDIT: I love the Zoomies, it's an older chassis with the wide front, The zoomies help with the nostalgia (SP) look.
It used to be a top Alcohol car. Chassis is certified to 7.50 so there's room to grow. LOL

That makes total sense!!! I was going to ask about some possible alcohol heritage(because of the zoomies).

Those times are amazingly close!!!

Yea no kidding about not wanting too change much!!!

You may have to watch for guys bagging you though... you know... running you down and braking and squeaking in front at the last split second.
Maybe a little 50 shot just for those rare times when someone is sand bagging and knowing you won't break out so they are right there waiting to hit the throttle the rest of the way just to beat you to the line... kinda like Ebay snipers.
A cheap little 50 shot would be enough for them and wouldn't hurt any parts!

Did that make sense???

Makes some sense but If I can get back to cutting .020 lights and hit the dail in as I should then it will be so close I won't need it.
It would probablly cause me to break out.

I may SB a little LOL , I'm really good at hitting brakes myself.

When we take the RV to Louisiana (gambling), I'd like to contact you, and find out what dates you may be racing. I love the sound of dragsters, and wonder what kind of reaction a street Cobra would get sitting at a light, and then opening the dumps - letting that sound out ...
