Did a 3 step correction on a friends Cobra the other day; which happens to be for sale if anyone wants it.

Products used:
-Porter Cable
-Orange CCS Pad
-Pink CCS Pad
-White CCS Pad
-Black CCS pad for wax application
-M101
-HD Adapt
-CarPro Eraser
-Collinite 845
-Chemical Guys V07
-CQuartz Fabric on the top
-303 Aerospace on interior
-Wolfgang trim seal

Overall, it looks a LOT better than what it did when I received it. This car was very severely oxidized, there were swirls everywhere, and it just looked like it hadn't had a good detail over the years. It isn't 100% swirl free, as the PorterCable can only go so far, but I am happy with how it came out and it looks a million times better than it did.

Here was a 50/50 I got on the trunk:

Damn iPhone made this picture turn out all blurry, didn't even notice then when I took it.

For those interested, the car has a built motor, mildly built T56, full exhaust, Vortech V2, front mount, etc... It's a very fun cruiser, and the car is pretty quick to boot!

Very nice paint correction.

You are right about the level of correction that a PC can get you. For a car (especially black) that is that hammered I generally start out with a rotary. Sometime I will just use a cutting pad on my Flex and with a two stage that will give me a nice finish. I have never tried V07. What are you seeing in term of a lifespan with it? Most QD's have only given me a weeks worth of "shiny"

Thanks! Yup, a flex will be ordered around Christmas time when my bonus hits. I need something better than this. I like V07, and use it quite a bit as its really the only CG product I like. It lasts about a few weeks or so, but I always use it as a QD when my car is dusty or something. Works well for needing more shine for a show or something.

Great work. Nothing like black paint that has been corrected. A lot of work, but worth it.

Thanks guys! Definitely does take some time and finesse, but not much looks better than freshly detailed black paint.
