Something tells me we’re going to be getting very healthy dyno numbers from the new gt500 ala terminator days of “390hp” being closer to 430.

2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500: 4 Pearls of Performance Wisdom - MotorTrend

So then I opened the 2019 gt350 dyno article link

It Makes How Much? We Dyno the 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 - MotorTrend

    So 494whp from a “526hp” rating...

Ok. By that kind of badassery, it’s not unrealistic to daydream about a 720whp gt500.

Im not saying it will, but we will soon find out.

    If that's accurate, it has a higher % drive train loss than my 14, ( 12.4 vs 11.7 ).
    Made a little more than my 2011 with a FRPP 750 kit, ( 656 )..

Being generous on the weight, because Lea Pritchett won't be driving the GT500.

Not to rain on the parade, but one chassis dyno number is statistically insignificant. They are terrible predictors of engine HP.

FWIW, this the same dyno that MT used for the mythical 470 rwhp 5G Z28.

tt335.....I think you called B.S. on those numbers. What's different this time around?

Keep in mind there is no 1:1 ratio in the DCT so that will skew numbers slightly.

Is it just me or is that trap low for the ET.

actually it seems like the E.T is slightly high for the mph/whp.

The trap speed on that calculator is dead nuts to what my car trapped vs my whp/weight but the E.T is about .4 high but most of that is in the 60'.

Calculators aren't usually accurate on ET because of the variables but trap speed is easier to calculate given weight and hp

Wait are you saying most GT500 will dyno below 660?
Everybody said I was crazy thinking 630-650rwhp for the 20 500. Said there will be no loss or very little between crank and wheel power.

Outside of loosely measuring differences between modifications, WHP is a largely irrelevant number. There are just way too many variations and permutations that influence results.

Just to cut through all the B.S., this engine is rated according to SAE J1349 standards, meaning every engine will make at least 760 crank HP, and I believe (don't have time to comb through the standard) within +/- 2%.

Regardless of what some chassis dyno spits out, there will be no 790, 800, 850 hp, etc. GT500's from the factory. Just ain't happening. Compliance with the standard, and Ford's own QC processes virtually guarantee that.

EDIT: A small, but important point is that the SAE standard is 100% VOLUNTARY for the OEM's. They are choosing to rate their engines according to a 3rd party standard. There is zero reason for them to cheat or game it.

And you're being SUPER GENEROUS on the 60 ft. time if we are talking bone stock.....it's not cutting 1.6X 60 ft. times on a 315/30/20 tire.

Is there more loss through the drivetrain because it's a DCT? Does that make a difference?

So you dont take mine that takes in 100 different real world conditions, has been within 1mph on every car ive actually tested real world ( as i have posted but you ignore); inlcuding the entire hp/tq curve, atmospherics, drag, shift speeds, etc, but u will take a 3 input online calculator?

You must be super intelligent 200 iq level genius

I almost believe this just knowing how much it pains you to post that soft of a number.

    Interesting.

666 is lower than what i was guessing which was around 680.

If that calculator is somewhat accurate, then I guessed pretty well at what my GT500 would run in the 1/4.
