Finished up full bolt on's with the 16A6 project car and headed to SacRaceway for some shake down runs.
We had traction issues due to running a new tire setup (DR learning curve, I'm a slicks kind of guy) and a lack of track prep but still netted a few 1.60 60fts which is OK.
We spent some time dialing in the shift points, which were higher than I'd anticipated on the base tune.

Gearing is still stock 3.15's and trap RPM was low @7100 for the setup. A gearing change to 3.31's or 3.55's would net better 1/4 trap RPM and MPH, but we are after ET and with the 6R80's 4.17 1st gear we are not certain a gear change would be the right direction for 60ft times.
We are confident the tires can take more power on launch, and we do have more to put down on launch with a prepped track, so 60fts will improve on the current setup.

The 2-3 gear split was killing acceleration which is why the shift points had to be moved so high. We'll have to figure out a solution to that problem.

I'm not convinced the GT350 manifold/TB/CAI is the right choice for the A6, but we will head back out on a prepped track to see what it's capable of.

All in all a successful night of racing, especially for the first time out on a new setup.

Nice times. Any idea on raceweight? Also, if not for the A6, do you think its a good choice for the M6 cars? Thanks.

With the tighter gear ratios of the MT82 I believe the GT350 IM can stay in it's power band much better than the A6.

Wheels are Weld RTS's beaded locked
Tires are Mickey Thompson 3572
Converter is Circle D 6C

DA ranged from 600-1250, so it was good but on the humid side for our area. You could smell the rain coming in.

I posted the graph on my Facebook page:

These are SAE corrected, be aware dyno graphs from mine to JPC's are not likely to be comparable. They are completely different animals (the dynos that is). A local shop has a Dyno Dynamics chassis dyno and we've never seen similar numbers from mine or any dynojet to theirs, but in the end the only numbers on a piece of paper that matter come in the form of a time slip! :rolling:

Have you considered the Cobrajet intake at all Shaun? I see that you have a cowl hood now, so I think it'll fit under it right?

Yes I have. I believe the SCJ would perform quite well, and I had the full setup at the shop 2 weeks ago for installation, only to find it would not fit under my new hood! I really do not want to cut the hood.

OH man!! it won't even fit under the new hood :(.. That's terrible!! I'm sorry to hear that man. I was gonna say it should pull higher into the RPM's which might help with the 2-3 shift.

Is the car on E85 now too?

Yeah the GT350 I believe is holding back the combo vs the SCJ, especially with the intake cams installed.
It's on E85, yes.

Another day at the track and another new best of 11.22 @122MPH, DA just over 700ft.

This 2nd track outing I worked on converter parameters and refined the shift points. ET and MPH improved at every interval.
Although the rear end gearing is not ideal for the combo, and we were not able to do better than a 1.57 60ft, it was a successful day of R&D.
On all but my last 2 runs I forgot to disable traction control. LOL Data logs showed no tire spin so it did not affect ET, MPH, or my data, but that just goes to show how good these tires are on this combination. I literally set tire pressure in my garage at 18psi, double checked it at the track when I got there and never checked it again.

With Better DA and a bit more seat time this setup looks to be good for 11.0's, which is not bad for a bolt-on S550 A6.

I'm currently debating another day at the track or moving on to the next round of R&D with the SCJ.
