No, not usually. That tach I pulled off a GMP model, but when I buy custom parts from TK diecast, they come unpainted, so sometimes I use a magnifying glass, usually to check my work since I need a steady hand with all the Testors paint bottles and using a paintbrush. Moreso applicable to when I built 1:24/25 scale models. 1:18 diecast models I haven't been making for that long and don't really need any help with vision. I had Lasik about 7-8 years ago and have 20/20 eyesight.
I do use those magnifying glasses a lot since i'm a watch guy and even with the best vision, idk anyone who could see some of the really small print for things like the regulator which is printed really small on the +/- to adjust it or to look at things like the escapement or mainspring/hairspring.
