Well, its time to get rid of the stock goodyears and get some MPSS replacements. Can anyone recommend a good installation shop in Northern Virginia? The Tire Rack lists some recommended installers but I am looking for feedback from real car guys, not someone driving an econobox.
Thanks...
While the stock exhaust sounds pretty good, I have been looking to upgrade for a while. I know about Borla, FRPP, Magnaflow, etc. but the stainless works catback with the dual polished tips has caught my eye. It sounded good on youtube but I am soliciting comments from anyone who has one...
When I park my 13 in my level garage and don't drive it for a few days, it seems like it is stuck in gear when I try to back up. This is an intermittent problem.
It feels like the hill assist feature is engaged but not sure. Sometimes I have to give it a lot of gas as I engage the clutch...
I need to take my 13 in for service and some warranty work. I bought the car in Richmond which is about 100 miles away. I am looking for recommendations for dealers in the Northern Virginia/DC area. i have been to Ourisman in Alexandria but was not impressed. Any suggestions would be...
A few weeks ago, I was in the garage and glanced under the rear of the car. I was surprised to see a puddle (2-3 tablespoons) of yellowish fluid on the floor. When I checked under the car, I saw the fluid was coming from the left rear shock. The shock is the adjustable one that is part of the...
I looked under my car this morning and saw a small oil spot on the garage floor by the left rear shock. Car has the adjustable suspension with about 700 miles. I jacked the car up and saw that there was a little oil at the bottom of the blue dust cover on the shock but not any obvious source of...
Has anyone bought a set of wheels to mount snow tires on? I am looking at 255 40 19s pirellis all around. I dont want to dismount and remount my stock tires. I think ford racing boss 302 ls wheels would work but would like to be sure before I buy.
Thanks
Looking for a good dealership to service my 13 GT 500 in Northern Virginia. I can do oil changes myself but I am thinking of when I might need some warranty work (hopefully never). The dealer I bought from is outside of the local area.
Appreciate any feedback.
I just got my quote from GEICO-1600 a year for full coverage of which 1000 is for 500 deductible collision. USAA total was 100 less. Live in Northern Virginia, 60 years old, no tickets. I was only paying 1100 per year for the same coverage on my 2010 GT 500. What are you guys paying?
Thanks
I'd like to pass along some good info regarding trade in values. I just traded in a 2010 GT 500 for the 2013. Before I began searching, I valued my car on Kelly Blue Book and NADA. Both said 37K-38K. trade in value.
When I got to the dealer, they quoted me a price from the Mannerheim auction...
So I had an 03 Cobra and I thought this car is fast. Then I got a 2010 GT 500 and I thought that it was really fast. But when I accelerated the 13 GT 500 I bought today up the freeway on ramp today for the first time I knew I had reached the promised land.
This car is a monster. I had given...
My cobra is 5 years old with 40K miles. Has anyone replaced their radiator and heater hoses as preventive maintenance with this many miles?
Thanks

My cobra is 5 years old with 40K miles. Is it necessary to change the drive belt and radiator hoses now? They all look fine to me but don't want a failure on the road.
What do you all think?

So FORD says we have 5 year/100K mile coolant. My car has 36K miles and is almost 4 years old. No overheating issues to date.
I checked the coolant with a ph strip and it was very acidic. However, supercharger coolant was ok.
So I drained the system and flushed with BG flush. Drained coolant...
Just bled the brakes at 36K miles (45 months). Used a hand vacuum bleeder. No problems encountered. The old fluid was black on the right rear and reddish brown on the left. No air in the system. Used DOT 3 synthetic. Pedal is a little firmer now. IMO it is good preventive maintenance

For your info, here is the method for changing your supercharger coolant:

So, 30K miles and three years so time to change the fuel filter. When I got under the car, I noticed that the rear differential cover was leaking from the bottom. It was a slight leak with no drops of oil ever showing on the garage floor. So I decided to check the fluid as I had no idea how long...
3 years and 30K miles. Just changed the fuel filter. I cut the old one open and didn't see any debris but it was dirty as indicated by a dull metallic gray coloring on the filter medium. Car ran fine before but seems a little more responsive now
Just hit 30K miles and have 2 months left on the 3 year warranty. I noticed the bottom of the rear differential is leaking.... a minor oozing that doesn't accumulate on the garage floor.
My question is should I get it fixed by the dealer under warranty? I have read that a lot of times they...
So I went to the dealer today for the first time since I bought my car in Aug 2002. I am replacing the front brake pads and wanted to get the little metal e clip that secures the caliper retaining bolt. I nearly fell over when they told me they are $8 bucks each!! This is ridiculous for a .25...
Used the NXT wax on my black 03 cobra. The results were awesome. Easy to apply, dried to a haze in ten minutes.
Buffed off quickly with no swirl marks.
Simply the best wax I have ever used
I just replaced my F1's after 18000 miles. These Yokos are a lot quieter and have a lot better traction.
