Does anyone know where the charcoal evaporative canister purge valve is located on a 2000 Mustang GT? I think mine is malfunctioning as there is a strong gas odor at the rear of the car. Is there a purge valve sensor or something else I should also check?

I ordered my GT500 in September 2008 and still have not received a VIN. The dealership is telling me that the order is on material hold because of the GT500 hoods and that is why the VIN has not been assigned. Does this sound like they are giving me the run around or could it be legitimate excuse?
