St. Augustine, FL
A great place to live.
We have a new Buc - ee's.
Non ethanol gas is common & available at a ton of gas stations (for my Harley).
Insurance not required on a motorcycle.
No vehicle inspections stickers.
No vehicle excise tax.
No state income tax.
The Gate near my house now has...
I've been through this twice in the last two years...not an F150, but both fords. I did a ton of research & ended up purchasing OEM Ford cats from Tasca. Every single other cat on the marked was either Chinese or had other issues. Got a great price from Steve (from this forum). Worked out great...
Agreed...there is no wrong answer.
Unless you want a vert (I do).
OR...you want to row your own gears (I do).
The 2020 is the first Shelby I had zero interest in due to the above.
Hello all - Been thinking about installing a Shelby extreme duty radiator (live in FL). That said - I've been looking at the Shelby extreme duty heat exchanger or the Shelby competition heat exchanger as well. Is the heat exchanger a worthwhile modification for a street driven vehicle? If...
As others have said...
This is not a "flat screen TV" scenario.
The components that make up an EV battery are "rare earth minerals" & other materials. These materials are getting rarer & more expensive. Just like gold & silver. The Lightning 35k battery in 2022 will be much more expensive in the...
For what it's worth: I just filled up my 2020 F150 2.7 ecoboost with a 36 gallon tank at lunchtime today. I pulled into the (self service) gas station at 12:46 PM - I left the gas station at 12:49 PM...a 3 minute fill up. I pumped 19 gallons. I can now drive my truck from Pembroke, Massachusetts...
It's not the $$ per mile for me, although I like saving $$. But, I get 20 MPG+ in my 2.7EB. So it's kind of a wash. Its the time involved to recharge. I'm not a patient person at all. That said, current gas pricing is by democrat design, to help their donor class...who own the lithium etc. Once...
I've never seen a charger at a gas station. Although there's a new Buc-ee's in St. Augustine, FL (where I live) It's got 104 gas pumps...maybe it's got charging. Not sure.
Three's another new Buc-ee's in Daytona Beach as well...60 miles south of St. Augustine. Probably illegal to build Buc-ee's...
Quick charge = around an hour. For 60 -70 miles? Or...with no trailer 100 - 140 miles. An hour wait for 100 or so miles? Now drive another 100 or so miles...another hour wait time? So every hundred miles you've got to sit for an hour? What about, freezing weather, hills, towing, wind, driving at...
The F150 Lightning that inspired this thread started at a 100% charge.
Everybody (tesla's etc.) seem to end their charge at 70 - 80%. I'll assume they just get sick of waiting around. Two hours of sitting around for 200 - 300 mile (or much less) capacity? Cold weather, hills, 80mph, towing...
