So you don't try pulling out into traffic and end up getting hit by it!

I like having it available and had the tuner leave it. I really wish there was a way to reverse its normal action: Turn off when starting the car, but can turn it on by having the light on.

i didnt have mine turned off in the tune. i keep it on when raining and in case someone else has to drive my car, like a buddy or a valet :dw:

i automatically turn it off when i fire off the car. when i first got it i would forget every now and then. oh the bog! :nonono: and i actually have left it on when going against someone :bash: luckily the car is so fast it can still beat most cars even after bogging

The traction control system that Ford put into these cars is a JOKE. Before I turned it off with my tuner it nearly caused me to wreck several times. My experience was that it would let the tires spin long enough to get the car sideways, then it would kick it and send me straight towards whatever I was pointed at (usually a curb or a ditch). I'm not sure what Ford was thinking, but the other cars that I've owned that had traction control worked much better.

Thanks for posting that ebay link to that "black box". That looks like a perfect solution, so you can still have the option to engage it, but you don't have to think about it constantly. I will be ordering one sometime this winter to install.

First thing I do when I get in mine and start it. I don't drive with it on unless I might forget but that has rarely happened.

I'm not much into pushing the limits of my car on a daily basis, so I leave TC on. To me, it has been much more helpful than not. I usually slow for the turns and wait till I'm straightened out before hitting the gas hard (if needed). Get some wheel spin and all at times, but rarely get the full bog down most experience.

It did act as a good indicator to road conditions as well. I remember once I got out of my house and thinking the roads where wet from the rain. I was about to overtake someone, and when I hit the gas, the car bogged big time. I wasn't giving it too much gas to begin with, but was able to quickly realize that the streets were somewhat iced over instead of just wet and I was able to quickly adjust my driving habits for the morning accordingly. Had TC not been on, I potentially could have lost control of the car when I tried to overtake instead of just bogging down.

Hmmmm, I guess I shall deactivate it from now on. Never paid too much attention to it as I seldome get sideways since Yellow is so damn noticeable (can't afford another ticket)

After hearing all of the "bog down, almost rear ended" stories I will turn it off from now on. Don't drive the snake in the rain so that won't be a problem.

Never a dumb question on this forum as it helps others who are to chicken to ask.......

2K4VENM, the easiest thing to do is get into a regular habit of starting the car and then turning the TC off. After a few weeks it becomes automatic. LOL!
