My wife loves to go to Broadway shows in downtown Charlotte, we went last weekend actually. Not really my style but I’m not letting her go alone. We take the train usually and I can’t carry anywhere in that damn city. Not on the train, not in any of the places she wants to go. I haven’t seen much of what you are talking about but you are right there is very little police presence around it seems like.
