I grew up just as the digital age was really starting to take off. Looking back on how things were at that time I have an opinion on it. I will give mine somewhere along the line as this thread moves a long. Simple question do you think the digital age has made life easier or harder. List specific instances where it is easier or harder.

In some respects, easier. In other respects, harder. We have loads of everyday conveniences, medical breakthroughs, new tech, etc., but our personal lives are much more complex and stressful in this digital age.

I'm on absolutely no social media. This site is the only online forum I communicate in... Used to be on MercuryMarauder.Net until they changed the format many yrs ago. A former acquaintance of mine, from the Marines, had been looking for me since 1991, with no luck. I didn't show up anywhere, no footprint, digitally, until I bought my new home in April of 2021. 3 months later, I get a phone call from him. Shit... I still wrote checks, paying all bills by mail and never used a debit card till 5 yrs ago.
I'm happy for the digital age for many reasons, but for privacy reasons, I hate the digital age.

This forum is 100% a social media site, as most “forums” are now.

I don’t know if I’d say easier, but I feel I’m able to accomplish more.

Specifically what things are you able to accomplish? Are they done to the quality of pre digital age?

Social media is cancer which is affecting mental health I believe.

I'm very worried about where the world is headed with AI and more tech. While maybe making life "easier" it's going to make it less worth living.

I miss the 80s and early-mid 90s

Only thing i like about today are 4 stroke outboards and the ease of ordering stuff....those 6-8week mail orders from your fav catalogs sucked ass
