I’ve been on a wait list for a GR Corolla Since July last year. I called the dealership and figured I was still a year out from getting mine. I wanted a base model, but I called at precisely the right moment to claim an incoming allocation being built this month.

This is one of the cars I wanted to include in my now botched thread I'm trying to fix. Been interested in these cars and it's on my list. How do you like it so far? Does power and handling seem up to par?

Congrats man! Just saw one for the first time in the wild a week ago and they look great. Front end looks real aggressive. Got a built Focus ST myself, so I def appreciate how fun and practical the hot hatches are. Would love to hear a little follow up review in a bit on how you like it thus far... The only thing is those three asymmetrical exhaust tips are a bit odd and can't stop staring at them on the back like a butt pimple on a hot chick lol

The pic I posted is just the car I’m getting. It is scheduled to be built this month, then shipped from Japan. Dealer thinks I’ll have it by around mid-January. I should be out of the hospital from the beatings the Wench will issue when she finds out I have yet another new car.

Congrats on the timing,......................meant to be !!
.
Agreed. I just call/write every few month to stay on my salesman’s mind. I can’t believe the stars aligned….

In this case, he didn’t even know there was a new model (Premium edition) for ‘24. It basically comes with all the options I wanted from the base (Core) model.

When I get the car, I’ll report back. Yeah, the exhaust is weird, so I’ll probably change it. I went through 3 Fiesta STs, so I love hot hatches too. Probably have to sell the Pussy Wagon (2018 Focus 1.0 Ecoboost) as I‘ll get killed insuring 4 cars.

Did you go with the Performance Package that includes front & rear Torsen limited-slip differentials and red painted brake calipers? Looks that way based on the photo. The red calipers go nice with the Supersonic Red exterior. And the Torsen option is a plus!

Bob, new for '24 is the Premium model which comes standard with Torsens, upgraded stereo, cold weather package (a must for me) and some other do-dads. Surprisingly, it comes with radar cruise control, which is weird for a manually equipped car.

The difficult part of owning a turbocharged vehicle is whether or not to tune it. Do you jeopardize the warranty IF it is detected even when removed or do you just forgo that modification.

Ah, I was confused because in your first post you said you "wanted a base model", so I thought that is what you ordered. I'm straight now. LOL. The new Premium model is nicely equipped, and seems to be the sweet spot of the three models.

I really want one of these to replace my DD FiST so I'm curious to see your thoughts. Seemed like performance was a little lackluster from articles, but it still sounds like it is a fun car, and maybe a tune will really wake it up? I've driven new Corollas and they are nice cars already so this one should be great for DD use.

Bought a ‘22 SE for my daughter and have been driving it for longer work trips. I’m not a hatch person but if they make this in a sedan, I’m in. Fun little cars. Report back as I’m curious how the additional power stacks up to previous hot hatches.
