Looking for more targets? Hmm I don't think so but u never know. Seems well organized with a plan and if he had other targets I'd think he would have hit them by now.
There's too much heat right now.

If I had to guess based on what I know about him, his military training, firearms proficiency, he probably ditched his vehicle, took a boat down river to another vehicle and is now out of state.

Anybody else find this thing a little too odd in timing?

The moment the senate passes a firearm rights bill for veterans, one goes on a mass murder spree?

Depends on when he checked himself in to the VA and said he wanted to go on a shooting spree.

I googled veterans firearm rights and got mostly stuff about TX. What was the bill?

Unreal. Even the VA opposes it.

Again, common sense out the window.

Everyone: We need to lower veteran suicide! VA doesn’t do enough!

VA: Veterans with mental health issues and markers of suicide shouldn’t have guns.

Everyone: Let’s make it easier for veterans with mental health issues to get guns!

Guess I shouldn’t say “everyone”. This is politicians doing something for votes.

Nobody in their right mind would allow/want someone they cared about to have guns if they are suffering from mental/emotional issues that lead to suicide.

Anybody that supports this can sit down on blaming the VA for “not doing enough”.

2A extremism in its worst form.. I thought open carry into the airport was a bad idea, this is way worse.

Pretty ****ing embarrassing that it was an Army guy…. Especially a West Point Arms Instructor. The only caveat to this is, at least he wasn’t a combat vet. Just a sick ****. Somehow he managed a career without deployments. WEIRD.

"The legislation would prohibit the VA from reporting veterans who are found incapable of managing their own finances to the FBI's national background check database without first getting a judge's consent. The Senate passed the measure by Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., in a 53-45 vote Wednesday afternoon."

I would hope there's a lot more to it than just being unable to manage your money and bills.

I saw a report that a “suicide note” addressed to his son was recovered from his home.

No motive identified in the note.

If you are trained person planning something like this, why do it where there is a chance of being seen? Why not try to snipe an outdoor activity, and get away with, at the very least, more of a head start on the man hunt. That is, unless you wanted to be or was told to be seen.

Far too often people think killers are necessarily mentally ill and I find that to be a misnomer. In this case though, it sounds appropriate.

Im getting that he is a petroleum supply guy, but was a West Point firearms training instructor (at some point in time)… Per Mike Glover (SF guy).

Since his Subaru was found at the boat launch, I'm not so sure that it means he left it there after the murders. He may have left it there earlier.

He may have rented a Turo, or bought a car off of Craigslist a week ago, and stashed it for his murder spree.

Kinda off topic, but relevant: "IF" you are carrying an iPhone/droid that's turned OFF, can you be tracked?
