Dont be a pussy...just drill an IO in lolI would be doing it. I've got training on it from the military, but I will be looking to take a refresher just to make sure I didn't forget anything.
Pretty sure the mobil IV thing is getting popular to cure hangovers. The person I know that used it for that. It was like $175, I'm sure it varies depending on what exactly you get. Funny "Jamba Juice menu" haha!I ran across an IV mobile service which appears to be becoming a popular thing in Seattle and the other rich cities so she had me schedule one for tomorrow since that is quicker than I'm going to be able to get all of this stuff together, and it's a helluva lot cheaper than an ER visit for one.
I'm still going to put this stuff together though because it is useful. Sounds like it's becoming a new popular venture from how many of these companies I saw listed. They have all kinds of different cocktails for different things. Felt like I was looking at Jamba Juice's menu lol.
I wish you well.I would be doing it. I've got training on it from the military, but I will be looking to take a refresher just to make sure I didn't forget anything.
Thank you my friends, it's such a strange world when you go from having a large family to no one. People on more than one occasion say I should write a book.I'm really sorry to hear that. Such a terrible thing to have to experience so my condolences to you and your family for your loss. She's definitely had me scared a few times watching her throw up multiple times after just taking a small bite of applesauce or a drink of water with some Gatorade
From what I know, she was diagnosed with Gibson Syndrome back in her college years when this first started happening and she feels it is stress induced coupled with diet and alcohol use. When she's feeling good she can eat anything and drink alcohol without issue, but when the combination is right it triggers this reaction. It's happened a number of times but the last two times have lasted for a week or more and she can't do anything for herself, basically bed-ridden and I have to help her with everything. Last time it happened I took her to the ER because she got to the point where she knew she needed an IV so we went and they hooked her up and did some tests. Besides the dehydration everything checked out completely normal. There was a slight elevation in her liver I believe but they said it was barely over the limit and they believed it had to do with what her symptoms were and the impact on her body.
She is going to go back to a specialist and try to figure this out but she needs to get back to normal now so she can work and one of the best ways to give her a leg up is an IV which is why I'm pursuing this route as a means to assist while we figure out the rest. But ultimately there is no cure for Gibson Syndrome and it is hereditary so it likely something she will need to figure out how to cope with and control. We are also thinking her thyroid may be playing a role as well given her symptoms but I will look into Addison's as well. I feel like I heard that brought up at one point so it may have already been looked into. My sister in law has potassium issues to the point it has left her temporarily paralyzed and she was at dangerous levels and they couldn't figure out why because she was too young to be experiencing that I guess. I definitely know how serious that can though with potassium deficiencies.
Appreciate all of the information though and I will start reading up on it more to see if there are parallels.
Get yourself some emla cream.
Oddly enough, when you read about the script EMLA cream it mentions how it is also used on one's penis and/or vagina rather then your typical uses. Weird.I. Read that as enema cream
Yeah those infusion services have gotten popular around here tooI ran across an IV mobile service which appears to be becoming a popular thing in Seattle and the other rich cities so she had me schedule one for tomorrow since that is quicker than I'm going to be able to get all of this stuff together, and it's a helluva lot cheaper than an ER visit for one.

Fantastic! The human body is a weird machine, but Iv is like a human WD40.Good news, the IV completely changed her condition and when I talked to her on the phone earlier at work she sounded normal, and not frail and shaky, and then when I got to the house she looked almost back to normal, just a little weak still from the ordeal. She had them do two bags of the vitamin loaded solutions and it was definitely the key to getting a leg up. Definitely going to be the way forward if she starts to feel a flare up coming on.
The nurse and nurse practitioner who screened her told her that her symptoms sound a lot like Sickle Cell which sounds like it could be, but it sounds like that would have likely been caught long ago since she had blood tests done the last time when we went to the ER plus when she first saw a specialist when this first started to happen in college. I read a little bit about it and it appeared like it is screened for easily in medical standards. Babies also get screened for it right away it said.
Hey brother. This is weird but I deal with the exact same shit as your better half. My wife is a nurse and I’ve lost count of how many bags of fluid she’s given me over the last few years. In fact, I crashed again Wednesday. Slept almost 24 hours straight, no food or water, and repeated it yesterday. Two bags last night and one today and I can keep Saltines down. So I’m on the mend.Super helpful brother. I have a reason for it but didn't want to type out a big sob story where people just say "Go see a doctor".
My girl has been dealing with some shit and she is going through it now. When she goes to the doctor they basically do an IV and send her on the way with no answers, a huge bill, and then she eventually gets better. It's like a cascading effect of throwing up and not being able to eat that ultimately leads to an inability to hydrate because nothing stays down.
She knows some things about her condition from doctors but hydration is crucial and she is done with going to the ER or doctor every time for something we can do on our own that has shown to help cure it while she figures out what causes or triggers it. I just needed to know what works and what is trustworthy because I have never bought this equipment before but have training on it and will do anything.
I go to the store and buy up everything I can think of that can be drank to hydrate trying to avoid the ER knowing what they will do, and I'm at the point where I just want to jump to what we know works.

PM me your number and I’ll be happy to help however I can. I’m also very interested in hearing what she thinks causes her episodes and comparing notes.
Mike

No worries brother. You've obviously been dealing with a bunch of shit, and I'm sorry you're as knee deep in it as the rest of us. However, I have a feeling you're going to find a better opportunity in the very near future.
After crashing Wed - Fri last week I'm up for a conversation.....and it sounds like you have some extra time on your hands. lol
